Cardz 4 Guyz - Anything but a Card

This week's challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is "Anything but a Card."  That kind of challenge usually sets me off into a panic and this time was no different.  The night before it was due I still had no idea what I could do.  I remembered I had colored this tiger from Fitztown and hadn't used it yet so I figured I would make a tag with it.  I found the paper online at CanStock Photo.  That paper really makes the tag for me.I colored the image with Copics. Thr grasses are cut with the Silhouette.

All of my challenge entries disappeared again.  It seems to happen every time I check my blog with my cell phone.  Ticking me off!   I am trying to get all the challenges back.  Sorry if I miss some,

QKR - Swimming

QKR's challenge this week is "Swimming."  These images are available here and here.  The digital paper and elements are from Echo Park.

I have to apologize to all my dear cardland friends.  I haven't been very organized lately and haven't gotten to visit blogs as I should.  I am back to work now and that has thrown me for a loop.  Plus, it's monsoon season and that makes me absolutely miserable.  Our cooling system doesn't work when there is humidity in the air and we have had tons of humidity lately.  So here we are in the Arizona desert in July with almost no cooling.  Doesn't exactly make you look forward to doing anything.  It will get better.  Monsoon season only lasts a few weeks.

Cardz 4 Guyz Sketch Challenge

The challenge this week at Cardz 4 Guyz is to follow the sketch.  I think I came pretty close.

I used this wonderful image from Whimsy Stamps.  I have so many images that I have had for years and never used.  This is one of them.  I colored him with Copic markers.  The digital papers are from Basic Grey.  I added a sentiment inside to make this a male birthday card.  I always need those.  I chose not to add a sentiment to the front.

Guest Designer-Through the Craftroom Door

I am a Guest Designer this week for Through the Craftroom Door!  The challenge is Anything Goes and this week the sponsor is Fitztown.  My favorite!  I chose this amazing Fitztown image, available here.  Check it out.  There are quite a few different country scenes available.

I found myself addicted to getting this done, to the dismay of my husband.  Every time I could spare a minute I was back coloring.  I really enjoyed seeing it come together.  It is larger than my normal size card,  it's 5 1/2 by 8 1/2.  Fortunately, I do have this size envelope so mailing won't be a problem.  The larger size made it much easier to do the detail.

QKR - Vacation

The challenge this week at QKR Stampede is "Vacation."  I used  the image, Enjoying the Sun, available here. I definitely had no mojo while working on this.  I'm feeling entirely burned out.  That could be because I couldn't sleep and it's two thirty in the morning.  Oh well, it is what it is!

I really wanted to tear up some sand paper for the beach sand, but if I woke my husband up at two for a piece of sandpaper, that would not go over well!  I ended up tearing up cardstock, but it's very hard to see the layers in the photo.  The digital paper and images are from Echo Park.

Bean Bag Chair for Lucas, Finally !

I bought the fabric for this chair at least nine months ago.  It's looks very shiny in the photo.  It is actually a faux suede.  I planned on making it on Christmas break...didn't.  Then I planned on Spring break, didn't again.    So I figured with six weeks off for summer break I'd have lots of time.  Ha!  I now have four days left, but I started the chair last night and finished it this morning.  I had to make sure I did it this time.  Tom bet me I wouldn't be able to get it done.  I didn't want to lose the bet!  I had to laugh.  He kept telling me Lucas wants his beanbag chair!  Lucas is only 22 months old.  He doesn't know what a beanbag chair is.  Well he has one now.  Fortunately, I have lots of peanuts left for refills.

Cardz 4 Guyz - At the Beach

The challenge this week at Cardz 4 Guyz is At the Beach.  I used this adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil, Kai in the Sand.  It's available in either a male or female version.  The digital papers are from Arizona Redhead. I purchased them on Etsy from AZRedHead

QKR - Paper Piecing

This week's challenge at QKR Stampede is Paper Piecing.  I chose this cute image Clown 13602, available here.  I used digital papers from Carta Bella.  I resized the paper so the print for his clothing would be smaller.  I colored the image with Copics.  The greeting is from Stampin' Up.

Cardz 4 Guyz DIY

Today's challenge at Cardz 4 Guys is "DIY."  I chose this image from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  It's called Man about the House.  I selected it because as soon as I saw it, it reminded me a lot of someone I had met when I worked in NYC years ago.  Forty one years to be exact.  Although, he was a security guard, not a fix-it man at the Federal Reserve Bank.  I remember him being such a sweet, gentle man and he always had a story to tell.

I colored this with Copics,  I think the letters were from Tim Holtz, but I'm not sure.  I used a corrugated paper for the background

I am entering this card in the following challenges:.

Scribble and Scrap  Anything Goes
Crafting at the Weekend  Anything Goes

Fitztown German Shepherd

Here is my animal fix for the week!  I just couldn't resist this German Shepherd image by Morgan Fitzsimons.  It is not available at the Fitztown shop yet, but if you email:  sales@fitztown.com and supply a link to this post they should be able to provide the image.

I colored him with Copic markers and the paper is from October Afternoon.  It's one of my favorites so I bought lots.  Can't afford to run out!  Chalks were used around the edge of the image for distressing.
